The Galdragildi (gently anglicized to GALDRAGILD), meaning "Magicians Gild", is first and foremost a school of high-minded Germanic / Teutonic magical study that uses runes, seið, and other esoteric practices. Its aims are toward those of Self-Initiation and whole awareness through accurate investigation and information that is put into practice within one's daily life: where the practice and living of the method are as important as the process of growing.

There are both the Spiritual/Religious (Gild Hearth) and Magical (Gild Hall) areas of focus that the Galdragildi promotes:
The Gild Hearth is for those who desire to maintain the "fires" of our ancestors through daily spiritual awareness and fostering heathen/folkish traditions - taking an active role in re-awakening the spirit of our folk.
The Gild Hall members are the dedicated magicians pursuing a system of Initiation - seeking self-transformation and mastery of a specific discipline: exploration and use of the Elder (including Anglo-Saxon), and Younger futhark systems, in addition to active pursuits in other areas of traditional study that are philosophically reflective of the Northern European "black school" (O.N. Svartiskóli) of our ancestors. We acknowledge the ancient god Wôðanaz (Wotan, Woden, Óðinn) who exemplifies this path of master magician. It is through this like-minded quest and development that new connections are established amid the gods and goddesses which resonate within the individual.

Some of the most powerful magicians were crafts-men/smiths. It is through this emulation and structure that men of the Galdragildi may find their tangent – that is, smith-magic: molding, formation, and creation using the malleable substances of the multi-verse through conscious precision. While the women are wholly capable, a particular area of focus they may follow is the re-awakening of the völva: The Galdragildi also draws specifically from the “female” aspects of the Germanic mysteries – especially the Norns (ON: Nornir) in their knowing of time: weavers and spinners, as well as Freyja/Frigg in their roles of wise and magical models: the Mothers of consciousness as they express their magic and wisdom.

The Galdragildi is not a mail-order nor internet-based gild or group - instead pursuing deep, personal interaction from all levels of members in order to rebuild the dwindling hearth of our folk. We have no affiliation with neo-Germanic, political organizations, neo-religious (new-age) pursuits, and furthermore are not interested in 'role-playing' or subjective anachronistic aims.

If you are interested in becoming part of this tradition and/or are seeking to become a serious-minded magician please contact us with your questions.
