MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION:

Once one joins the Gild Hearth, he or she may choose to work toward the Gild Hall. If so, they are given the initial curriculum that guides them through the early stages of Germanic/Teutonic magical development: that is, he or she begins a structured course that will assist in learning the three ætts of the Elder futhark while being immersed in the surrounding lore. The lore is important in that it provides a kind of platform of understanding from/of which learning takes place. A strong foundation is necessary for the Apprentice, much like having to learn the basics in a martial art before obtaining more complicated/intricate practice. Of course, one of the best possible ways to achieve this is to be practicing what you learn while meeting and corresponding with others of the gild. Once one is nearing the completion of their Apprenticeship, more detailed guidance and information regarding some of the work of the Journeyman; that is 'journey-work' (faring forth, projection, gandreið, etc.) as well as more involved ritual & magic activities (which undoubtedly transpire throughout the Apprentice course-work.) There will also be monthly workshops/reading groups to assist in the progress of the Apprentices and Journeymen.

The Galdragildi was founded after wholly experiencing and completing the curriculums of two noteworthy schools of Germanic magic in addition to other magical, that is, esoteric practices and studies over the 23 years of growth leading to the gild's formation. One of the main goals of the Galdragildi is to establish real connections with others within the gild, rather than suffer the growing proclivity of e-communication: building a true gild and true connections as in the days of our elder kin: to stand alongside within hof and hörgr. A major difference between some of the existing schools of magical study and the Galdragildi is the establishment of the Outer Hearth for family members or partners of those working in or toward the Inner Hall. We feel it is exceptionally important to create the entire community for the magicians to work with, or apart from. The quarterly blóts (sacrific) and sumbles are open to all: both Gild Hearth and Gild Hall. But there are many specific activities and wholly magical practices that are pursued which are not of the interests of the general folkish / heathen community.
